Sunday morning at World’s End, and here we are at a narrow gauge light railway terminus on the edge of nothing and the middle of nowhere (rather like Bedfordshire). You won’t even find the place on any map, despite there being many World’s Ends on this overcrowded isle, but this World’s End is so insignificant, cartographers couldn’t be bothered and simply went to the pub instead.
For this reason, the moonshiners have set up a new operation in plain sight, for there is little chance of being rumbled on what is an ideal location with rail access right on its doorstep.
These ancient barns pre date the railway by many years and until the coming of the railway could only be accessed on foot across a wild open bog, with only a select few knowing how the navigate to their existence without sinking into the mud or being eaten by wild boar. Though quite how the red lorry on the right has got here I’ve no idea which makes me think that the hand of spod has been involved in this cameo.
And finally, it’s rumoured that PECO based their popular Wills kits on these remote and ancient gems.
