Who’d have thought that The Pedant & Armchair would go all la-di-dah and ‘gastro’ with outside seating. It just needs a little Farrow & Ball green/grey paintwork to complete the ‘look’ so it will appeal to types who have children called Toby and Tabatha. I’m mean, who calls their child Toby, unless you know they’re going to be an estate agent in Knightsbridge? 

The pub is now so posh that it even does meals and snacks for horses, with Hubert eager to check the new menu out. 

I’ve no idea why Neil is kneeling, but he loves to take the knee at any opportunity, he being a snivelling submissive little tick who’d sell his mother for ‘likes’. 

And finally, there’s the carriage, super posh I’m sure you’ll agree, and I’m sure the royal blue paintwork was mega expensive, even though it might not be in the current Farrow & Ball catalogue.

Brake Shoes

There’s plenty of activity at Whimsy Pit this morning with Harry and his Hunslet 0-6-0 steamer pushing some old iron ore hoppers about from here to there and there to here, and occasionally a mix of the two. 

Quite what they’re doing in the colliery sidings I’ve no idea, but in The Land of the Inch most things make little sense as regular followers of this miniature drivel will know. 

Brake shoe fanatics will notice that the brake shoes on the middle wagon don’t line up with the wheels, this is because the wagon was originally destined for Ireland where they run on 5’3” gauge, or here in The Land of the Inch high, 21mm. 

Okay I made that last bit up, it’s just old tooling of a wagon made back in the 1980s, when the manufacturers didn’t worry about such things, the producer being ‘Mainline’ which at the time were quite new to the scene. 

And finally to complete the scene, we have ‘that cat’ again who appears in so many photos. He’s not as ginger as he was, this is down to the paint rubbing off revealing his toxic white metal soulless inside, which is one of the reasons for him having no empathy at all, like all cats of course.
