Mendip/North Somerset style scratch built pit head building based around a Bachmann Scenecraft pit head - nothing like a good day taking in the sun as well as some model making to get good progress!
Chris, that is terrific modelling and lovely attention to detail. A bit of a wide question, but what do you use to paint and weather structures like this - the transformation from plain plasticard to the above is stunning. Have you finalised a plan for the Radstock Coal & Steam layout?
First I mist over a base of Halfords red primer, matt black, grey primer and then dry brush on the top layers using various pale earthy coloured (beige, grey, leather, white etc) Humbrol enamels and some Carr's rust coloured powders. This took about and hour from popping the top off the aerosols.
